For the safety of our technicians we are operating in a very limited capacity on all front range routes due to the recent heavy and sustained snowfalls. Please read your terms and conditions of service for information regarding our inclement weather policy. There has been insufficient meltoff to effect a proper and thorough cleaning throughout the Denver Front Range. The pet waste that we are unable to remove, will be removed as soon as the weather allows. In particular the south sides of your property if bordered by a solid fence will remain frozen much longer than the rest of your yard making it impossible in some instances to remove all of the waste until the temperature rises above freezing for several days. We are expecting another round of snowfall tonight (Friday) throughout Saturday. Please make sure that your gates are in working order and not blocked by ice, snow, or obstacles. If our techs can’t get into your yard due to blocked entry, they will note same on your door hanger and if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call the office at (720) 327-2149.

INCLEMENT WEATHER NOTIFICATION Please consult your terms and conditions of service at Section C, paragraph 3. Due to the recent snowfall in excess of 15 inches over the past weekend, it is impossible for our techs to negotiate safely on side streets and/or at your property to effectively clean your yard. Additional snowfall is forecast for Monday night 2-6 which will further impede our operations, therefore we are suspending all operations until Thursday 2-9 for the safety of our technicians.

INCLEMENT WEATHER – NO KIDDING… 8:12 pm February 2nd, 2012 – the snow is just starting to stick to the sidewalks, has already covered the grass… and this is just the beginning. If your regular service is on Thursday or Friday, we cleaned your property on Wednesday or first thing this morning. Please bring your dog inside during this storm. It’s not fit for man nor beast out there! Please make sure to clear the snow and ice from around your gate so that when we are able to get there, we’ll be able to enter your property to clean. ***** ATTENTION **** FREEZING COLD **** LEAVES AND SNOW ******
Please understand that if you have not raked your lawn and there are leaves down and/or there is over 3″ of snow accumulation in your yard, we may not see the hidden pet waste under the leaves and snow. Raking your leaves and/or shoveling your snow is not in our job description or included in your bill. Hidden pet waste may only be visible once you remove the leaves or the snow melts. Unless your dog likes to use the entire yard for his business, we generally find the majority of the waste under 1″-3″ of snowfall, but… we can only remove what we can actually see. If it’s below 20 degrees, it takes a pick axe to dislodge your dog’s business from the ice (we’re not kidding…) . Sometimes Mother Nature can be our worst enemy, but luckily we live in the Denver Front Range and what’s white today can be gone by tomorrow afternoon. As in the warmer months, we will get everything out of your yard once the weather clears.

Women who are pregnant are at risk of transferring diseases found in pet waste to their unborn child.

Children who have open cuts, sores, or dirty hands are at risk of contracting toxicaria among other pet diseases and/or parasites such as hookworms, roundworms, tapeworms or whipworms from playing in the backyard sandbox!

Parasite eggs can remain in the soil of your yard waiting for a host for years! Though you may not see fecal matter, it does not mean it is not present in your environment.

Dog feces that are allowed to remain on the ground puts the community’s drinking water supply by allowing the contaminated rain water to run into lakes and streams.

The CDC is working closely with the American Veterinarian Association’s Parasitic Division to encourage veterinarians to educate pet owners about the risks of disease transmission from dog waste.

An average size dog dropping contains three billion fecal coliform bacteria. In addition to fecal coliform, dogs can also be significant hosts of both Giardia and Salmonella. It was noted in a 1982 study of Baltimore, Maryland catchments that dog feces were the single greatest contributor of fecal coliform and fecal strep bacteria.

It is too cold to let your pet stay outside. Please bring your pets in during this cold snap. Even if you’ve provided a shelter for your animal, during subzero temperatures, unless there is heat provided, your pet will freeze to death inside that shelter, so please think of your animal’s welfare and do the right thing by them during the winter.
